Please be advised that we have limited quantities of special items for holiday meals and that orders should be placed well in advance of when they are needed. For example, heritage turkeys are usually sold out by the 1st of October and a fresh Christmas goose is just plain hard to come by.

HERITAGE TURKEY $5.99/lb
There are still available a few breeds of turkey that are most like the wild birds; these turkeys are generally not raised on factory farms and therefore not usually available at the local grocer. We offer heritage turkeys, pre-ordered, for fall and winter holiday meals.

GOOSE $6.99/lb
A once traditional holiday meal, goose is all dark meat, so the taste
is pretty close to that of the turkey's dark meat. Others have
described it as very much like well-done roast beef, rich in flavor.
Available for fall and winter holidays, pre-order only. |

What do food labels mean?
Food labels are packed with information, but some words can be
confusing, if not downright misleading. A dozen eggs in a carton
boasting the statement "farm fresh", for example, have probably not
come from anything that looks remotely like a farm. A dairy cow is far
from "happy" at an industrial facility where she never grazes on
pasture. And "natural" is not synonymous with "high-welfare", in fact,
the former term refers only to meat processing, not the animals' lives. Here is a link to give you more information about specific labels: What Do Food Labels Really Mean?
